Stephen's lasting tribute

Hutchison Vale youth football club have revealed a legacy to former goalkeeper coach and talented photographer Stephen Edgar, who died in a tragic accident aged 29 two-and-a-half years ago.

Each goalkeeper at every age group at the club will now wear shirts emblazoned with one of Stephen's most iconic photos, a landscape scene of a tree and a local bus in the city's Broomhouse area that formed part of his portfolio towards a photography degree at Stevenson College.

Stephen's younger brother Matthew, a player with Hutchie's under-10 outfit, staged a collection along with a team-mate at the funeral of his sibling to raise more than 700 and kit out every Vale No.1 with the specially-designed shirt.

Stephen was among the coaching staff at the Ford's Road club and his memory lives on at the club through the eye-catching image that will take pride of place alongside the words 'Stephen Edgar Photography' on the shirts of Hutchie's aspiring goalkeepers. The club raised 260 for the print of the image.
