Steph Twell ready for world-class test

Steph Twell will test herself against a world-class field today in her first outing since claiming a Commonwealth Games bronze medal in Delhi.

The Scot meets 2008 Olympic marathon gold medallist Constantina Dita, as well as Commonwealth 10000 metres champion Grace Momanyi, in the Bupa Great South Run in Portsmouth.

"Steph may not have run a serious 10-miler but has a 71 minute 56 second half marathon under her belt from the spring, so she will not be over-awed by the opposition," said race chief Peter Riley.

Scotland's Andy Lemoncello takes on reigning world steeplechase champion Saif-Saeed Shaheen in the men's event.
