Star pay for their errors

Beith 6Newtongrange Star 2

In a game full of mistakes it was the West Superleague holders who made the most of them. However, Newtongrange had the best of the opening 20 minutes and took a deserved lead through a super free kick from Stuart Roseburgh.

But then in a crazy five-minute spell Star lost a hat trick of goals to find themselves 3-1 down. They did have an opportunity to get back into the game with a penalty but the normally superb Steve Thomson had his effort saved by the keeper.
