Not everyone will have vivid memories of Fabrizio Ravanelli’s time in Scottish football, including Ravanelli himself it seems.

Speaking from his home in Perugia, the White Feather was asked to account for his move to Dundee, for whom he made six appearances in 2003, during an interview for The Athletic website.

“It was a funny situation,” he says. “I love Scotland because I love the football culture. When I was at Juventus, we played against Rangers and I just always remembered this incredible, fantastic, burning atmosphere. But then I arrived at Dundee. And it was not there. There was no chairman. No organisation. It was nothing.

“It is impossible to say about Dundee because there was no club, no nothing. A funny situation. I then had the chance to go back to Perugia
and I returned to my village and scored a lot of goals.”

A hat-trick after coming on as sub v Clyde – when Hibs manager Jack Ross was in the opposition – appears to have slipped his mind.
