SPL Fanzone: Hibernian

Hamilton deservedly left Easter Road with all three points on Sunday after their first win on our patch for quarter of a century.

It was obvious from the start that the visitors were more determined to take something from the game. Hibs seemed sluggish in all areas with no real energy or invention. The return of our defensive frailties meant there was only going to be one outcome. Bottom-six fixtures are a hard enough sell without the team putting in less than satisfactory performances. A similar display against St Mirren this weekend could see our attendances drop alarmingly for the final few games of the season.

In a season dominated in Scotland by ugly off-field rancour, the applause by Hibs fans for Hamilton's Nigel Hasselbaink as he left the field was a refreshing moment. Perhaps it really still is the beautiful game. Here's hoping.
