Speedway: Sneddon on way back

Falkirk-born speedway star Derek Sneddon looks set for a dramatic return to Edinburgh Monarchs in 2012.

Sneddon, 28, skippered Monarchs to their second Premier League crown in 2008 – but was controversially dumped the following year because Monarchs were over the 42.05 team building points limit.

It’s understood Monarchs have already held informal talks with Sneddon and a club source confirmed: “A deal is pretty close to bring Derek back to Armadale next season.”
