Spartans are out for revenge

Spartans entertain promoted Vale of Leithen at Ainslie Park tonight in the Central Taxis Premier Division looking for a win that would see them leap-frog Selkirk and move into second place behind early leaders Edinburgh University.

Spartans joint manager, Sam Lynch said: "Vale were the last East of Scotland team to beat us when they won in a cup tie at our Academy last season. We therefore have a great incentive to beat them. Edinburgh University and ourselves are the only two unbeaten teams in the Premier Division and our aim is to maintain that record although we know that Vale have some new players and will be really up for the game. We must start the game well."

Spartans have concerns over the fitness of Daniel O'Donnell and Alex King, who both missed the Image Printers Cup win win against Gala on Saturday.
