South Africa v New Zealand: Landmark won't distract Smit from Springbok goal

South Africa captain John Smit is looking forward to an "awesome experience" in his 100th test but says his milestone won't distract the Springboks in their Tri-Nations clash with New Zealand in Soweto today.

Smit says his men "will be wary of the fact that a good result will be more important than one guy running out for the 100th time."

The hooker, who has led South Africa in a world record 73 tests, expects today's game at FNB Stadium to be "even bigger" than the 2007 Rugby World Cup final in Paris. Smit says lifting the World Cup and winning the 2009 series against the British and Irish Lions have been the high points of his career.

The match will attract South Africa's biggest test crowd in 55 years, as the 94,700-seat arena witnesses the All Blacks' bid to clinch the 2010 Tri-Nations title.
