Snooker: Young Scots turn on style in Ireland

Scotland's snooker stars of the future had another magnificant day at the 2010 World Under-21 Snooker Championship being in Letterkenny, County Donegal, Ireland.

Michael Leslie, 17, of Bonnyrigg, won both his matches without dropping a frame, and has now won all of his five matches in his group. In the morning, Leslie defeated Leong Man Hoi (Hong Kong) 4-0 then followed that up with a super performance in the evening with another 4-0 victory against Brian Ochoiski (France).

Robert Carlisle (Edinburgh) ensured his place in the knockout stages with a 4-0 victory over Al Urft Bairaq (Sweden). Rhys Clark (East Kilbride) is also through to the knockout stages after a 4-0 victory over Al senan Mohammed Fathi (Saudi Arabia).

Ross Higgins (Cumbernauld) produced one of the performances of the tournament so far, coming from 3-1 down to defeat Jason Devaney (Ireland), helped by a century to level the match at 3-3.

Campbell Dunlop (Kilmarnock) lost 4-2 to Jamie Clarke (Wales) and still has some work to do to qualify.

Leslie, Carlisle and Clark are currently leading their groups and will be aiming to stay there to ensure top seeding for the knockout stages.
