Snooker: Young Scots target pot luck

TWENTY young Scottish snooker players are taking part in the Lt Col Walter Rowley OBE Junior Star of the Future Festival at Pontin's World Snooker Centre in Prestatyn Wales this week.

The event features two age groups and Anthony McGill of Glasgow returns to the scene of his historic PIOS Event 5 victory in the 15 to 20 section along with 12 other young Scots including Michael Leslie (Bonnyrigg) and Eden Sharav (Alloa), who should both fancy their chances of putting in a good performance.

Ross Muir (Musselburgh) leads the Scottish charge in the 14 and under section along with six other Scots competing for a sponsorship fund.

The tournament is played in round robin groups with four players qualifying from each group for the knockout stages which start on Wednesday.
