Snooker starlets still in the pot

Scotland's snooker starlets still remain in a strong position after a tough day at the 2010 World Under-21 championship in Letterkenny, Ireland.

Robert Carlisle (Edinburgh) and Michael Leslie (Bonnyrigg) both lost their 100 per cent records after losing out in deciding frames to high quality opponents. Carlisle lost to Vincent Muldoon (Ireland), who has just returned from the professional circuit.

Muldoon was 3-1 down and then required a snooker in the decider, however, he made a wonderful comeback to take top spot in the group. Leslie came from 3-1 down to Kishan Harani (Wales) and had levelled with an excellent clearance of 90 but Harani made a 47 in the decider to seal victory. Leslie should still win the group with one game remaining.

Rhys Clark, who is 15, (East Kilbride) showed his quality and potential once again after a 4-2 victory over Julius Grauls (Belgium) to remain unbeaten and he is now certain to top his group.

Campbell Dunlop (Kilmarnock) looks to have done enough to qualify after defeating Arya Sohrabi (Netherlands) 4-1, however, Ross Higgins (Cumbernauld) is in danger of going out after losing 4-1 to England's Stephen Craigie, one of the favourites for the title.
