Snooker: Ross Muir cues up for finals . .

Musselburgh schoolboy Ross Muir put on another magnificent performance to qualify for the semi-finals of two junior snooker events.

After qualifying from his group, the current No.?1 in the Scottish under-16 rankings comfortably qualified for the semi-finals of Event 4 of the Scottish Under-16 Snooker Series, sponsored by JMConservatories.co.uk, with a 3-0 victory over Clydebank's Connor Gault at The Creamery in Falkirk. Muir will meet Glasgow's Dylan Craig in the final.

Only 24 hours earlier, Muir qualified for the semi-finals of Event 5 of the Scottish Under 21 series being held at the Locarno Snooker Club in Edinburgh. Muir secured his place in the semi-final with a 3-0 victory over Bonnyrigg's Michael Leslie.

Leslie recovered from the defeat to secure a place in the final of Event 4 of the Scottish Main Tour Series but lost out to Glasgow's Scott McKenzie in the final.
