Snooker: Roarty makes a key break of 67 to reach East of Scotland Junior final

Bonnyrigg's Scott Roarty was made to work hard to secure his place in the final of the East of Scotland Junior Snooker Championship after a 3-1 victory over Musselburgh's Greig Ritchie in The Matchroom at The Edinburgh Corn Exchange.

In a typically nervy semi-final, the opening frame proved crucial when, despite Ritchie potting the deciding black, the cue ball was also pocketed to hand Roarty victory. Roarty then won a close second frame before Ritchie pulled one back. However, it was not to be Ritchie's night and a 67 break by Roarty was enough to seal the match in the fourth frame.

Roarty will need to be at his best in the final if he is going to overcome tournament favourite Scott Donaldson of Perth. The youngster is second in the Scottish Amateur Rankings and is bidding to win the title for the first time.
