Snooker: Michael Leslie falls to Bobby Cruickshanks

Perth's Bobby Cruickshanks overcame Bonnyrigg's Michael Leslie 4-3 in the East of Scotland Snooker Championship at The Edinburgh Corn Exchange last night.

Leslie opened up a 2-1 lead with a 58 break in frame three but Cruickshank replied with a 58 himself to level the match at 2-2. Leslie once again went ahead but Cruickshanks hit back again, this time with a 52 break to force the decider. In the final frame, Cruickshanks went 40 ahead early on in the frame, however whilst Leslie got back into it, a missed pink proved to be the turning point and Cruickshanks held his nerve to secure his semi-final place against Corstorphine's Ross Vallance on Tuesday night.

Cruickshanks said 'It has been an incredible week with all four quarter-final matches going to the final frame and I don't believe that has ever happened before. When I went 3-2 down I just hoped that my match would go the distance as well and I just managed to get over the line. Ross is a really good player and it should be another cracking match."

Alloa's Eden Sharav plays Edinburgh's Stuart Johnstone in the other semi-final.
