Snooker: MacGillivray motors to Masters win
The former professional player, who has now won three tournaments in quick succession after also winning both opening events in the Masters and Main Tour Series earlier this month, was in dominant form throughout the event, losing only a single frame in seven matches.
MacGillivray qualified comfortably from the group stages, defeating Edinburgh’s Derek Dudgeon 3-0 to book his place in Sunday’s quarter-final. The 40-year-old then raced to consecutive 4-0 victories over Scott Hughes (Falkirk) and Jim Rushforth (Stirling) before defeating Jamieson to secure the title.

However, he had some luck after a damaged tip forced him to have to borrow another player’s cue. “Fortunately for me, I was already 2-0 up in the final when it happened,” he added.
