Snooker: Leslie shines in Prestatyn

Bonnyrigg snooker star Michael Leslie will lead a host of Scotland's top junior snooker stars into the final stages of the 2011 Star of the Future event in Prestatyn, Wales.

The 17-year-old, featuring in the 15 to 20 age group, sailed through his section, finishing top with six wins and three draws and will now play Ross Jones of Wales later today for a place in the last 16. Ross Muir (Musselburgh), who won the Under-15 event last year, also qualified from his group along with Scott Donaldson (Perth), Rhys Clark (Hamilton) and Eden Sharav (Alloa).

In the under-15s, Joseph McLaren (Clydebank), Jamie Toal and Anthony Nardone (both Glasgow) all made it to the last-16 stage. The knockout stages commence today with the event finishing on Friday.
