Snooker: Leslie opens up a lead in the Under-19 snooker rankings

BONNYRIGG snooker player Michael Leslie defeated Eden Sharav (Alloa) 4-2 in the final of the Scottish Under-19 Series Event 4 at The Creamery in Falkirk.

In a very tactical encounter, Leslie took the opening frame before Sharav levelled the match. Leslie won the third frame to go ahead again before making a 57 break in the fourth for a 3-1 lead.

A break of 40 helped Sharav pull one back, however Leslie ensured that the title was going to be his with a 50 break in the sixth and final frame. Match referee Dougie Melrose, of Falkirk, said: "Although there was not the usual flow of high breaks we have come to expect of these two players, it was a very tactical encounter with a lot of good safety play."
