Snooker: Leslie chalks up under-21 win

Bonnyrigg's 17-year-old Michael Leslie quickly got over his East of Scotland exit on Friday night by winning Event 2 of the Scottish Snooker Under 21 Snooker series, held at the Q-Club in Glasgow.

Leslie, who had lost out in a final frame decider to Perth's Bobby Cruickshank only 24 hours before, had to face another last frame shoot-out against Hamilton's 16-year-old sensation Rhys Clark. On this occasion, however, Leslie came out on top.

Leslie looked on course for a comfortable victory when he led 4-2 with the help of breaks of 101 and 71. Clark, however, won the next two before Leslie made a 57 break to ensure victory and his place at the top of the under-21 rankings.

In the semi-finals, Leslie defeated Edinburgh's Robert Carlisle 4-1 whilst Clark beat Musselburgh's Ross Muir 4-2.
