Snooker: Cruikshanks denies Leslie win

PERTH'S Bobby Cruikshanks beat Bonnyrigg star Michael Leslie 5-2 to win the Scottish Snooker Open at the World of Snooker in Chesser.

Cruikshanks, 29, went in to an early 2-0 lead with breaks of 37 and 34 in the opening frames. Leslie hit back in the third frame but he found himself 3-1 down at the break. The pressure was piled on Leslie when Cruikshanks went 4-1 in front before Leslie again showed his fighting qualities by winning the sixth frame with an excellent long blue.

However, there was to be no stopping Cruikshanks from taking the title as he recovered from a 27 point deficit to clinch it.
