Snooker: Carlisle shows grit to win

EDINBURGH'S Robert Carlisle (Edinburgh) enjoyed a hard-fought 4-2 victory against the highly-fancied player Li Yan, of China, to make it two wins out of two in the group phases of the 2010 World Under-21 Snooker Championship being held in Letterkenny, County Donegal, Ireland.

Carlisle started in fine style with 38 and 97 breaks to win the first frame. However, Yan hit back to win the next on the black before the Edinburgh youngster made a 47 to take the lead again.
