Skeen back as 'Sonians continue title push against Hawick

WATSONIANS are set to welcome back centre Andrew Skeen when they bid to step up their challenge for the Scottish Rugby Premiership title against Hawick at Myreside on Saturday.

The former Newcastle provisional signing was competing at Dubai Sevens last weekend and missed 'Sonians 24-21 win at Aberdeen, which kept alive their faint title hopes. With leaders Currie failing to get a bonus point last weekend, if they were to slip up at Ayr and 'Sonians keep winning then the title could yet be decided at Malleny Park on the final day.

Currie have an eight-point advantage over Ayr with 'Sonians a further point back, but five points are available for each match.

In maintaining pressure with four straight wins, Watsonians have also spent the last fortnight without utility back Matt Coupar who is also due to return from a hamstring strain shortly.

Meanwhile, 'Sonian 2nds beat Aberdeen reserves 42-21 - their 35th consecutive win.
