Skating: Siblings are on a Swiss roll with bronze in Bern

Murrayfield ice dancers John and Sinead Kerr claimed their second European bronze medal in Bern last night.

The brother and sister pairing were in third place after Wednesday's Short Dance and stayed there thanks to a career-best 94.62 points for their Free Dance and a total score of 157.49. That matched their bronze medal-winning performance in Helsinki two years ago and sets them up perfectly for the World Championships in Tokyo in March.

"We're very pleased," smiled Sinead who only recently recovered from an autumn shoulder injury. "We wanted to go out and give a good performance, and we pretty much did that." John added: "I'm really proud that we were able to give a good account of ourselves.

French duo Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat took gold last night ahead of Russia's Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitri Soloviev.
