Skating: Kerrs move on up to fifth

MURRAYFIELD ice dancers John and Sinead Kerr improved one place to fifth after the Original Dance at the World Figure Skating Championships in Turin.

The brother and sister duo followed up Tuesday's personal best in the Compulsory Dance with a season's best 58.23 points yesterday.

Their total of 95.79 leaves them just four points off the bronze medal position and only 0.51 away from fourth spot going into tonight's final element, the Free Dance.

They are also well on course to better last year's seventh place in Los Angeles and last month's eighth place at the Winter Olympics.
