Sinclair parts company with Bo'ness after loss

BO'NESS manager Eric Sinclair has resigned following the weekend 3-1 defeat at Kelty Hearts which followed the 4-0 drubbing by fierce rivals Linlithgow the week before.

Sinclair had been in the job for almost two years, during which time Bo'ness dropped down to the Premier League.

However, he managed to lift them back into the Super League for this season and, at the start of this campaign, his side took points from many of the fancied sides in the league.

Lately, though, they have dropped nearer and nearer the relegation zone after a string of poor results.

Sinclair said: "The plan was always to stay for only two and a half seasons. But, after the past few weeks, I feel it's time to leave and give someone new the chance to fight for survival. There are only five more league games to go so there is a good chance they can survive the drop. It was best for the club and the supporters that I leave now.

"I've enjoyed myself at this club because the response from the players has been a credit to themselves. But if you're not getting that enjoyment then it's time to leave.

"Sometimes the quality of the playing staff hasn't been as good as in the past years but if they were that good then they wouldn't be playing Junior football. I'm disappointed that I'm leaving the club without them being safe from relegation but it was time for me, personally, to leave. I would like to thank everyone at the club for their help and support."

With Bo'ness looking to make a new appointment quickly, ex-Fauldhouse and Camelon manager Jim Harkins is one name that has been mentioned.
