Silver's success at Ayr is treasured by Goldie

Something Silver, the 7-4 favourite, has done all his winning at the Craigie track and he made the running, pulling out more to see off the challenge by Manoubi by two and three-quarter lengths.

Goldie said: "That beats our previous best jumping score of 15 so we are pleased with the way things have been going this season. Something Silver likes it here, but we don't run him much anywhere else and when I saw the rain I thought he had a big chance, he has been running well on quicker ground."

The Uplawmoor trainer is looking forward to the Flat Turf season getting under way tomorrow and added: "We have 50 in this time and we run Dhaular Dhar in the Spring Mile and Wind Shuffle, who will like the ground, in the mile-and-a-quarter handicap."

Noble Alan (1-6 favourite) is set for a step back up in class after a comfortable victory under Brian Harding in the victorchandler.com Novices' Chase.

Trainer Nicky Richards said: "We will see what the ground and the opposition are like but we have three options really. We could either come back here for the Future Champions Chase, go to Aintree (for the Maghull Novices' Chase) or Punchestown, but I think it is likely we will stay at home. We want to go the right way with him because he will be taking on all the big fellas next season."

Donald McCain's good run continued when Overturn justified his odds of 4-9 in the Best Odds Guaranteed Victor Chandler Novices' Hurdle.

Winning rider Jason Maguire said: "Overturn came to us off the Flat and was a bit keen to start with and wasn't finishing his races, but he keeps finding more when horses come at him and he is now the horse we thought he would be when he was bought."

Oscar Honey (6-1) secured his first victory in over two years as he triumphed in the opening Victor Chandler "National Hunt" Novices' Chase at Ayr. Trainer Rose Dobbin said: "It is a nice to see there is ability still there with him. He had some good form a couple of years ago when my father had him in Ireland with Jessica Harrington and I rode him when he was third in a Grade One novices' chase (Powers Gold Cup at Fairyhouse)."
