Shinty: Kilmallie storm Fort

JUBILANT Kilmallie manager John Morrison said his players had been rewarded for all their pain after they sent rivals Fort William crashing out of the MacTavish Cup.

The lower league Canal Park outfit went to the home of the Premier League leaders and booked their place in next month's final 4-3. Kilmallie now face Kingussie and on-form striker Ronald Ross at Bught Park in a fortnight. Fraser Massie, Liam MacDonald (2) and Michael Rogers were their heroes in a game which was a great advert for the sport.

"We have taken a lot of knocks in recent times but I feel the boys knew this was an opportunity that might not come along that often and went for it," said Morrison.

In the other semi, lower league Beauly took the lead in the first minute before four goals from talisman Ross earned Kings their final slot. The final will be televised live on BBC2.
