Shinty: Kilmallie disrupted by T in the Park

Kilmallie’s quest to survive in Shinty’s Orion Group Premiership has taken a knock thanks to a music festival.

The Caol outfit sit third bottom of the division and face Kingussie today knowing they must pick up points to avoid the drop to North Division One.

However, four key players – Peter MacIntyre, Michael Rodger, Ewen Stoddart and Marak Graham –will not play as they are at Kinross for the T in the Park music festival.

Furthermore, Ross Lavin is on holiday, leaving the Canal Park management with a patchwork squad. “It is a big blow, but we will just have to get on with it,” said co-boss Lachie Innes.

It is also a major day in the cups. Glenurquhart face Fort William for a place in the Artemis Macaulay Cup final. In the other semi-final, Inveraray play Oban Camanachd.
