Shinty: Inglis passes on his cup experience to Taynuilt

Camanachd Cup legend Fraser Inglis will be passing on secrets today as little Taynuilt make history with their first game in shinty's elite competition.

The Argyll Club take on 2005 runners-up, Kilmallie, but they will also have a veteran of many Camanachd Cup scrapes to call upon former Oban Camanachd and Kingussie legend, Inglis.

Inglis was part of the Oban side that lifted the famous trophy in 1996 against Kingussie and has been coaching Taynuilt since retiring from Shinty a year ago.

"Being in the Camanachd Cup is a sign of the club's growth and the enthusiasm around the place. The fact that it manages to put out a first and second team is an achievement in itself and we'll see how they get on.

"I don't think anyone would expect Taynuilt to win, but it will be an occasion for the players to enjoy. I don't think many of them realise they are part of history but they will by Saturday."
