Shinty: Glens turn back the clock for McNeil

Glenurquhart co-boss Drew McNeil saw his team reach the Macaulay Cup final and now has the chance to re-live a career high.

Glen defeated Fort William 3-0 in Saturday’s semi-final and will face Oban Camanachd at Mossfield in the final on 18 August. McNeil, who first lifted the trophy in 1990, said: “The Macaulay Cup is one of the best and hardest to win. This was the first senior trophy of my career with Fort William and I scored the winning penalty in sudden death.” Lower league Oban defeated top-flight side Inveraray 4-3.
