Shinty: Biggest game since '86 for Newtonmore

Newtonmore manager Norman Macarthur has described today's Camanachd Cup semi-final with Inveraray as the club's biggest game in 25 years. Macarthur, who played in Newtonmore's last Camanachd Cup final victory in 1986, a 5-1 win over Oban Camanachd in Glasgow, said: "This will be a very difficult game for us.

"For me, it is the most important game for this village in 25 years. It is the best chance we have got to win the trophy and we made it a priority at the start of the season to do so."

For Inveraray, it is a chance to salvage their season, with only a relegation fight to look forward to beyond the final at Bught Park, Inverness, on 17 September.

In the other semi-final, Kingussie face Kilmallie, desperate to make amends for losing last year's final 3-2 to Fort William.
