Shamrock aiming to humble Juve

FORMER Hibs and Dundee United winger Michael O'Neill, now manager of Irish club Shamrock Rovers, has warned Italian giants Juventus they won't get an easy ride against his side in tonight's Europa League qualifying tie in Dublin.

Despite being big underdogs, O'Neill said there was no fear in the young Shamrock squad and refused to write off his team's chances of causing an upset.

"I think we have a group of players here that are capable of ruffling a few feathers in the Juventus team and who knows what will happen on the night," O'Neill said.

Rovers, based in Tallaght in the south of Dublin, landed the glamour tie after beating Israel's Bnei Yehuda 2-1 on aggregate in the last round.

A handful of young fans, some wearing Juventus jerseys, gathered around Tallaght stadium to catch a glimpse of their Italian heroes as they trained.

Flanked by the Juve captain Alessandro Del Piero, manager Luigi Del Neri said his squad were taking the clash seriously and wouldn't underestimate their hosts.

Shamrock are as big as 11/1 with some bookmakers to cause a massive upset by winning the game.
