A KURTIS Byrne hat-trick helped East Fife to a deserved thrashing of Dumbarton at New Bayview. Lloyd Young finished off a flowing move for the first goal, and Bobby Linn set up Byrne for the second and third before the break.

Brechin did well to see off promotion rivals Alloa at Glebe Park.

Callum Booth shot Brechin ahead in the 20th minute, and Rory McAllister scored two to blunt David Gormley's comeback effort just a few minutes earlier.

Livingston are two points clear at the top of the Second Division after beating Forfar at Almondvale.

Paul Emslie went from scorer to sinner as Ayr snatched a last-gasp point at home to Peterhead.

Emslie spoiled his 11th minute strike by getting sent off and Mark Roberts equalised from the spot after a later handball.

Stenhousemuir 1, Airdrie United 3

Ryan McCord's long-range free-kick found the net to give Airdrie a 35th minute lead, before Stenhousemuir's Scott Fusco saw red for felling Anthony Watt in the area. Paul lovering and Stevie Murray cancelled out Alex Williams' late effort.
