Second Division round-up

Honest Men rout Diamonds but Livi still lead the way in title race

Airdrie United 0, Ayr United 5

A SECOND half blitz saw Ayr romp to victory. Paul Willis opened the scoring in 50 minutes, Mark Roberts made it 2-0 and Michael Moffat added a third. Scott McLaughlin made it four and Andy Rodgers netted the fifth from the penalty spot.

Alloa Athletic 1, East Fife 3

Alloa's dismal form continued. Craig Johnstone gave East Fife a 34th minute lead and a Ross Philp own goal and another Johnstone strike made it 3-0 at the break. Michael McGowan's 66th minute penalty was a mere consolation for Alloa.

Brechin came from behind to beat Stenhousemuir. Scott Dalziel gave the visitors an eighth minute lead but Rory McAllister equalised just before the break. Jamie Redman gave Brechin the lead on 55 minutes and Neil Janczyk sealed the points.

Peterhead 1, Forfar Athletic 1

Dick Campbell's son Ross scored a late equaliser to give Forfar a draw. Conor Gethins had given the home side a 34th minute lead they held until the 90th minute. Ross Campbell's goal would lift the family's mood as his father battles cancer.

Dumbarton 0, Livingston 3

Two early goals helped Livingston to victory over Dumbarton. Keaghan Jacobs got the opener in five minutes and Iain Russell quickly doubled that lead with his 17th goal of the season. Liam Fox added a third midway through the second half.
