Scottish Communities League Cup Draw: St Mirren land trip to old foes Morton

ST MIRREN will travel to Greenock for a Renfrewshire derby in the second round of the Scottish Communities League Cup, while another rivalry will be resumed at Pittodrie when Dundee visit Aberdeen hoping to repeat their victory over the Dons from two seasons ago.

The ties were the highlight of the fixtures thrown up when the draw for the second round, which takes place later this month, was made in Dingwall.

St Mirren have started the Clydesdale Bank Premier League season in fine form, taking four points from games against Dunfermline and Aberdeen.

But Morton have also impressed, hitting 11 goals in cup ties against Stranraer and Alloa, with Paul Di Giacomo and Andy Jackson already on five goals each for the season.

Dundee, who beat Mark McGhee's Aberdeen 3-2 in the third round in 2009, have scored six goals in wins at Arbroath and Dumbarton. Elsewhere in the seeded draw, Hibernian have been handed a home game against Berwick Rangers while there is another derby with East Fife hosting Dunfermline.

St Johnstone host Irn-Bru Second Division champions Livingston and Motherwell visit Clyde, while Inverness Caledonian Thistle face a long trip south to Ayr United.
