Scotsman rugby show: Heineken Cup | Dubai | Clubs
Seymour and Edinburgh stand-off Harry Leonard both feature in this week’s Scotsman Rugby Show, giving their verdicts on a poor showing by the Scottish teams in the weekend’s return to European action. Seymour missed the Arms Park match but is back this week and the finisher believes that victory over Cardiff at Scotstoun tomorrow night will put the Warriors back on the right track, with wins against Exeter and Toulon in January re-igniting the hope of playing in Europe beyond the spring for the first time.
Leonard acknowledges that it is taking time to get to grips with Alan Solomons’ new style of play in the capital Edinburgh but is confident that Edinburgh’s performance against Gloucester was a blip and that the team will bounce back to form in big games over the coming weeks.

Hide AdThe Rugby Show also makes its first trip to Dubai, courtesy of sponsors Xodus Group, to witness Scotland Sevens’ first cup quarter-final of the season and catch up with former Scotland skipper Jason White and the Xodus Steelers, a band of veterans who revelled in the desert sun - they were not the only ones - and retained the international veterans trophy.
We also feature some top-quality tries from the club game, scored by Scottish clubs and against them in recent weeks, and appeal to clubs to send us clips of tries for us to include more action from across the country in the next show.
We will be back in a fortnight with leading names from Scottish rugby past and present to reflect on the highs and lows of 2013, but, for now, enjoy a ten-minute break to hear first-hand from players and coaches in the Scottish game.
