Scots finish down the field in Young Masters

SCOTLAND, represented by Ewan Scott (St Andrews), Lawrence Allan (Alva), Jessica Meek (Carnoustie Ladies) and Ailsa Summers (Carnoustie Ladies), finished 19th of the 28 countries competing in the European Young Masters Under-16s golf tournament at Royal Balaton Golf and Yacht Club, Hungary.

Finland (676) won from Sweden (680) with England and France (both 683) sharing the bronze medals.

Wales (704) finished 11th and Ireland (732) 17th. Scotland's total was 734.

Lawrence Allan, with scores of 76, 78 and 83 for 237, finished 22nd behind the gold medal winner Alberrt Eckhardt (Finland) who scored 73, 70 and 76 for 219.

Ewan Scott scored 78, 84 and 83 for 245 and finished joint 33rd.

Ailsa Summers had rounds of 83, 82 and 87 for 252 and tied for 33rd place behind the winner, Sweden's Isabella Deilert who had rounds of 68, 73 and 82 for 223.

Jessica Meek finished joint 47th on 275 with scores of 93, 90 and 92.
