Scots draft in big guns for Afghan revenge mission

SCOTLAND chiefs have drafted in their big guns for today's revenge mission against Afghanistan.

The Scots were unable to stave off I-Cup defeat despite a backs-to-the-wall effort from their batsmen on Saturday. They slumped to a 229-run reverse - their first loss in the tournament - to relinquish top spot and leave them needing victory over Zimbabwe in October to be sure of reaching the final.

But they get an immediate chance to avenge that defeat when the sides go head-to-head in an ODI double header at Ayr today and tomorrow.

The Scots may also bring back strike bowler Gordon Goudie, who missed the four-day match after picking up an ankle injury.
