Scotland v N Ireland: The Ulster Scots heading for Dublin

Northern Ireland's record scorer David Healy is one of five Old Firm players named in the squad to face Scotland in Dublin on Wednesday night.

Healy returns to Nigel Worthington's squad after being excluded for the friendly against Morocco in November. He sealed a transfer window move to boyhood heroes Rangers after a frustrating time at Sunderland.

The striker's Ibrox team-mates Steven Davis and Kyle Laffetry are also in the squad, along with Niall McGinn and Paddy McCourt from the other side of the Old Firm divide.

Worthington expects Healy to kick on now he's got a chance to shine at Ibrox. Worthington said: "I am delighted he has got a move to Rangers and hopefully he can get some regular first-team football, get back on the goalscoring trail, which he is very good at, and then bring that to Northern Ireland.

"David has had a very lean time through playing and scoring goals but, hopefully, that frustration now is behind him and he can look forwards.

"I have been saying the same to any footballer for the past couple of years - if you are not playing regular first-team football, then your mental and physical sharpness disappears."

Goalkeeper Jonny Tuffey of Caley Thistle and Motherwell centre back Stephen Craigan are the other Scots-based players in the squad.
