Scotland Under-17s celebrated their second victory in seven days as they followed up last weekend's impressive win over England in Leeds with a 32-10 triumph over France A at the Wellington College Rugby Festival yesterday.

The young Scots, coached by Dave Wilson and Ben Fisher, had outstanding performances from their Jordanhill School centre Neil Herron and Edinburgh Academy back row Chris Dean, who were both among the try scorers.

They bagged one apiece in the first half to help the Scots to a 17-3 interval lead, the other try coming from the Loretto full back Ruairidh Young, whose score was converted by the Sedbergh stand-off Ben Cooper.

Robert Gordon's College flanker Cameron Turner crossed for Scotland's fourth try in the second half, before the hard-running Herron added the Scots' fifth. The other points came courtesy of a penalty and conversion from Cooper.

The Under-17s return to action tomorrow when they face England Blues.
