Schools badminton: Boroughmuir win Edinburgh title

Jillie Cooper, who won the women’s doubles at the weekend’s Yonex Scottish National Championships in Perth, is a former pupil of Boroughmuir High School – and there seem to be a host of youngsters ready to follow in her footsteps.

Boroughmuir claimed the Edinburgh Schools’ under-19 Cup for an impressive third year in a row with victory over the Royal High in the final and now go forward to represent Edinburgh in the Scottish Schools on 28 February.

The school also enjoyed a host of successes at the Edinburgh Schools’ Secondary Championships and qualified for next month’s finals.
