School Sports: East Ayrshire award for Auchinleck

BADMINTON: Auchinleck Academy's badminton team have been named team of the year at the East Ayrshire Council Sports Awards.

They gained the recognition after winning the Ayrshire Quaich, the Scottish Schools Quaich and the under-18 and under-12 Anglo-Scottish events. Members of the team also had individual successes at national and Scottish Schools level.

The award was collected on the team's behalf by Billy Fulton from the Hurlford Coaching Team where many of the players train.
