School curling: Murrayfield date for Stranraer sides

CURLING: Stranraer Academy is clearly a hot-bed for curling talent with two teams having qualified for this weekend’s Scottish Schools’ Championships at Murrayfield.

In one of the biggest school events on the calendar, 24 teams have survived the early rounds to make it through to the last stage – pools of six followed by straight knock-out. The final takes place at 3pm on Sunday. But the two teams that contested last year’s final – winners George Heriot’s and runners-up Arbroath High – are both missing from the line-up.

The Stranaer Academy 1 line-up is Bobby Lammie, Neil Topping, Euan Kyle and Stewart Kyle and Team 2 is Frazer Shaw, Christopher Henry, Campbell Dooley and William McQuillan.
