Sasa: Whitt I'd give for goals

SASA PAPAC has fond memories of Rangers' last trip to McDiarmid Park but admits fellow full-back Steven Whittaker has since put his goalscoring exploits in the shade.

Papac grabbed the winner in October's 2-1 SPL victory over St Johnstone, who host Rangers tomorrow.

The strike was the Bosnian's only goal this season and his third since signing for Rangers in 2006. Papac said: "It is not often I score the winning goal in a game. It's usually Boydy (Kris Boyd) or Kenny (Miller) or Nacho (Novo) but this time it was me and it was a great feeling.

St Johnstone made it difficult but I was delighted to score and help the team."

Whittaker took his tally for the season into double figures last Sunday when Rangers beat Hibs 3-0.

"I see Steven Whittaker scoring ten goals and this makes me think that perhaps I have to do a bit better!" Papac told www.rangersfc.co.uk.

Rangers can extend the gap on Celtic to 13 points with victory in the lunchtime kick-off, with Dundee United visiting Parkhead later in the day.
