Sasa Papac may need to look elsewhere

Sasa Papac has admitted he may have to look elsewhere for his next contract. Rangers have yet to present him with terms to allow him his favoured outcome of staying in Scotland beyond the summer.

And in the week the Scottish champions announced a new deal tying Steven Naismith to the club until 2015 and assistant manager Ally McCoist made positive noises about agreeing a contract extension with Kenny Miller, the Bosnian has revealed he may be forced to appoint an agent - a move he would not consider if he believed he would only be conducting any future negotiations with Rangers chief executive Martin Bain.

"I don't have an offer on the table," Papac said. "We just speak. Martin (Bain] said the club want to speak to me about a new contract. I said that's fine, 'I'm here'. But that's as far as it's gone. I don't know when we will speak, that's not a question for me. I must wait. It's hard for me to comment if I don't know anything. I've always said Rangers is my first option. I must give them the chance to take me. But you just never know what's happening. If it comes to January then I must think about my future.

"It's now getting very close to the end of my contract and I have to consider everything. I don't have an agent, I do all the negotations myself. It was the same when I moved to Rangers - I did everything myself. But I must also think about this option when the new year comes. If I deal with Rangers I don't need an agent but for someone else then I might need an agent."
