Saltman slips down the field

LLOYD Saltman saw his lead in the Hi5 Pro Tour’s Valle del Este Open disintegrate during the second round in Spain yesterday.

The former Open silver medal winner, who led by three strokes after starting with a 64, stumbled to a six-over 77 for a one-under 141 and dropped back into a share of fifth on one-under 141.

Saltman, whose round was crippled by a quadruple bogey eight at the 15th, now heads into the final day eight shots behind new leader, Alex Belt of England, who hit a 66 for a 133.

Elliot Saltman joined his brother on the 141 mark after a 71 while youngest sibling, Zack, posted a 75 for a 162.
