Saltires secure Nel for internationals

SCOTLAND have concluded an agreement with Kent that will see Dewald Nel released for key international fixtures.

The South African-born bowler sealed his return to county cricket after agreeing a two-year contract at Canterbury last week, drawing a transfer fee that will boost Scottish cricket's coffers.

The switch raised fears that the Saltires' threadbare bowling resources could be stretched with the loss of their most consistent seamer. However a deal has been struck that will see him made available for the One Day Internationals against England and Bangladesh which are covered by the ICC's player release rules, as well as several other fixtures which are not.
