Sailing: Dobson bags fifth in Olympic test regatta

Finishing fifth in yesterday's Medal Race at the Weymouth and Portland International Regatta Scotland's Charlotte Dobson ended the full Olympic test event regatta ninth overall in the Laser Radial class and now expects to have to fight for her Olympic selection at the ISAF World Sailing Championships in December in Australia.

On the difficult medal race course yesterday Dobson made a good start to her medal race and led the ten-boat fleet by the first leeward gate.

Her chances of improving on her ninth place standing were remote, but her disappointment at slipping to finish fifth in the Medal Race was evident.

"It was good to do the medal race and see the big Union flags flying, a good image for the future.

"I could hear my mum shouting and saw my sister."
