Colin Wilson, Gorgie: "The back row was immense again and I thought the scrum was back to its best and the line-out was superb. If we had that referee the week before he would have sorted out the English cheating and I reckon we would have beaten them."

Alex Graham, South Side: "I don't really think Scotland played an awful lot better than they did in any of the other games, they just managed the situation better and saw the game out. Great result though."

David Campbell, Morningside: "It makes you wonder what might have been. Pretty much the same as every other year."

Alan Kay, Leith Links: "When Ireland got level and they had all the pressure I thought they would go on and win the game. So fair play to Scotland for having the guts to win it. Parks showed plenty of bottle with that last kick."

Iain Reilly, Stockbridge: "No complaints with the forwards but there is still no cutting edge in the backs. Ireland looked really dangerous behind the scrum – we didn't."

Chris Barnes, Dunbar: "It's a win and we scored a try so that's good, but it would be wrong to think everything is okay. This team need to be consistent."
