Video: Scott Johnson predicts tight Six Nations
With apologies to our Irish readers and viewers, Johnson starts off with a somewhat non-politically correct word for the Irish.
In this latest part of our show previewing his last tournament at Scotland’s coach before Vern Cotter take the reins, Johnson reveals why Kelly Brown is his first choice as captain and who will step in if the back row doesn’t make the team. He also gives us his thoughts on how the championship will shape up.

Hide AdHe expects the games to be as close as last year, where Wales snatched the title from England on the last weekend and Ireland and France ended up fighting to avoid the wooden spoon. He does not agree with pundits who reckon Wales will suffer from their heavy involvement in the British and Irish Lions tour and that France will benefit from that, and believes that Scotland have the arsenal and squad depth to seriously threaten.
And in Johnson’s inimitable style, asked for a quick-fire one-word description for each of Scotland’s opponents in the tournament, he lets us into his unique mind with instant answers that maybe tell us something about his thinking ... on some of the teams at least!
The reaction to last week’s interview with Johnson has been tremendous so keep the feedback coming on who and what you would like to see us cover with the new bite-size style of the Scotsman Rugby Show. Coming soon are interviews with Scotland legends.
