The transfer market has been buzzing since mid-season as clubs bid to strengthen their squads for the next campaign and several Scotland internationals are moving on to pastures new. Edinburgh and Glasgow Warriors have brought back a couple of familiar faces and there are a handful who are leaving Scotland for fresh challenges overseas. Here are 11 internationals who have signed for new clubs.

5. Ross Thompson
The stand-off is making the short trek along the M8 to join Edinburgh after a successful last season with Glasgow Warriors which saw Franco Smith’s side lift the United Rugby Championship. Thompson’s last act in a Glasgow jersey was to score the final try in the 27-10 win over the Stormers in the quarter-finals. He played 12 times for the Warriors during the 2023-24 campaign after missing almost the entire 2022-23 season because of injuries. The 25-year-old won a Scotland recall for the summer tour and started in the win over Canada before being replaced by Ben Healy who he will vie with for the No 10 slot at Edinburgh next season. 6. Adam Hastings
The 26-times capped stand-off is returning to Glasgow Warriors after three seasons in the Gallagher Premiership with Gloucester. Has endured some tough times with injury in England but finished the season strongly and started for Gloucester in their Challenge Cup final defeat by the Sharks at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Will give Glasgow a different dimension at 10 where Tom Jordan and Duncan Weir are the incumbent stand-offs. 7. Ali Price
The scrum-half has made his move to Edinburgh permanent after a successful loan spell. He made the surprise switch from Glasgow Warriors last November in an inter-city loan deal that was initially described as “being in the national interest”. Price was one of three Scotland scrum-halves at Glasgow and was struggling for game-time due to the fine form of George Horne in particular but also Jamie Dobie. Moving to Edinburgh saw him used more regularly and he played 17 times for the capital club. He has signed a one-year contract. Photo: Craig Williamson/SNS Group

8. Jonny Gray
The hugely experienced second row has been without a club since leaving Exeter Chiefs by mutual consent in April. Gray, 30, helped Exeter win the Gallagher Premiership and Heineken Champions Cup double in 2020 but hasn’t played this season because of injury. He dislocated his knee cap in the 2023 Champions Cup semi-final loss to La Rochelle and will now make a fresh start in France having signed for Top 14 finalists Bordeaux-Begles.
